Kullu crisis- Postcards
During my research on the conflict between the hill people and the government in Kullu, I discovered a disturbing pattern of double-dealing by the authorities. It became evident that they altered their message to suit their convenience, which caused a great deal of suffering to the people of the region. For instance, the government allowed the Kullu forest to be tampered with to build a dam because it was seen as economically beneficial, but when the hill people asked to let their sheep graze in the forest, they were denied access, citing concerns about biodiversity.
To showcase this duality in my creative work, I decided to use postcards as my medium. In today's digital age, physical postcards can serve as powerful conversation starters. My target audience is environmentalists who care deeply about these issues and would not hesitate to purchase a postcard to start a dialogue on the topic.
